Leading boards in different cultures across Europe – what can we learn from non-Norwegian board-members?

What makes it different to be a Board chair or Director in a Norwegian Board compared to other European countries? How is it as a non-Norwegian to come into our culture? What can their experience teach us, and what can we pick up from experienced Norwegians in global boards?

Veronika Zagieva is the co-editor of the book “Leading a Board – Chair’s Practices Across Europe, written with professor Stanislav Shekshnia at INSEAD. As a Corporate Governance expert, she specializes in Board appointments, Board assessments, CEO Succession, Nomination & Remuneration Committees support.

At this meeting she will speak from their book, emphasizing the description of the situation in Norway, give a comparison with other European countries and a look into her “Top Fives of Chairing Boards in Europe”.

Following Veronika, we will hear from Anne Drinkwater, recently reelected to the Board of Equinor for her fifth term. By that she is one of the non-Norwegian Directors with the broadest experience from serving in Norwegian Boards. Additionally, we will be joined by Jane Toogood, Independent Director of Hydro with a broad background from Board positions across industries.
